I was contemplating whether ‘this place’ to which Jacob refers in not the geographic land, but the dream itself. It seems to me that dreams function as ‘interfaces’ between our physical world (the neurobiology of the brain) and heaven (the meaning/communication of the dream itself, which cannot be reduced to neurobiology).
I’m only about half way through, but I wanted to say how much I appreciate Zoë’s voice I REALLY like the inclusion of a non-theologian in the conversation. I know your episodes, especially those on the lectionary, are geared toward pastors and priests, but it is such a sweet counterpoint to have a non-expert lay person in there, especially one as lovely as Zoë. Thanks for the treat!
this was an awesome conversation. thanks y’all (and Lauryn Hill)
Eugene Peterson called the lectionary’s “editing” of the psalms “psalmectomies” lol.

The reflections on Judas and the son of perdition, were incredibly helpful. Makes so much sense. Thankyou.
