45 minutes in as you discuss beautiful theology delivered by rabidly evil people, I think of what St Julian mentions in her showings- there is in the ‘higher part’ of everyone a spark of the Divine will that never has and never will consent to sin… the lower part incapable of willing anything good. We stand in the center of His Love.

Such mystery does she speak in her showings!

I’m going to be posting about this soon, comparing it with a passage in Simone Weil, but for those interested here’s the passage from Julian's 12th Shewing (ch. 37) that Karen is referencing— ”For in every soule that shalle be saved is a godly wille that never assented to sinne, nor never shalle. Right as there is a bestely wille in the lower party that may wille no good, right so there is a godly will in the higher party, which wille is so good that it may never wille eville, but ever good.”
