First, having read Simone because of an encounter with her writing picked off a library shelf in Tacoma Wa. and then again through Brad’s sharing (for me) a few years ago, I am glad to know I am in good company needing to read her again and again to even begin to open up to understanding. That said, what you read about the distance came back to me again, piercing me utterly again. That space!
On another note, I am reminded of a moment in Atlanta this past SOT when Chris mentioned aspects of certain churches being designed ( emphasis on designed ) to obfuscate the gospel - not an exact quote - and I literally groaned and felt sick.
This might be a complete incoherent connection, but today listening to Brad’s testimony, the impact of which is not lost on me for my own need to step into what he is saying here, but also for the mercy prayers for the church. Jesus, does that make any sense?
