For those who haven’t yet heard, I had a stroke on Friday morning, followed by what seems to have been one or two mini-strokes on Sunday morning (after sleeping pretty much all day on Saturday). I do have some minor deficits at the moment, as well as a kind of endless headache, and I am easily exhausted, but thankfully the damage seems to have been minimal and I should be able to make a full recovery in time. Obviously, I need a lot of rest, so that'll be priority for now. I will continue to do my reflections when I can, as I can. I find that writing and talking, so long as I keep it brief, actually helps relieve some of the anxiety. Please don’t forget to pray for me and for my family—especially for Julie and the kids, in fact, since they have to live with me through this and we all know I'm difficult enough when I've not had a stroke!
My husband and I will miss your weekly insights on the lectionary readings. We will keep you and your family in our prayers. Take all the time you need to rest 🙏
Praying for you all. Thank you for your wisdom and insights. “Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love's sake.”
Prayers for you and your family, Chris. I’m sorry this has happened.
Praying for you as you rest to encounter Christ in a profound way, and that God would keep you and your family in perfect peace.

Praying for you, the family, and all who know you. You are too young to ask for a mere 15 more years. I'm asking for the Double Hezekiah.
Definitely praying for all of you, Chris. May healing and health be yours and may Spirit be near.
We’ll be praying for you and your family. Appreciate you and your ministry
