This reminds me of one time, when I tweeted the Elizabeth Barrett Browning quote:

“Earth's crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God; And only he who sees takes off his shoes; The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.”

and then Fleming Rutledge randomly responded to me out of the blue, and totally schooled me, and said:

“Moses did not go looking for the

burning bush. Many look for a burning

bush and do not see one.”

I think your reflection regarding Mary’s “seeing” really struck a proper balance. That helped bring a lot of clarity!
