Chris, I love the way you make connections at ‘outer world’ and ‘inner life’ levels and frequently weave these together. It’s a gift. Seeing Jerusalem as a symbol of the complexity of the inner life (among many other things) is very powerful. I had also never thought about the significance of the donkey. Reflecting on parts of myself that tether my capacity to carry Jesus into the world. Also thinking at the moment about the lack of visible prophetic voice being carried by the Russian church into the Jerusalem of the Kremlin, perhaps through misguided belief, or perhaps the simple fear of death.
