Oh my friend! I might have been slower! 😁 I will look forward to reading your book, tho’ I am good with being a late bloomer - now ☺️

The experience was so helpful with my children, understanding, for example, that a boy who hasn’t read by 9 years old isn’t necessarily a worry. It turned out, it wasn’t.

The rector at my church asked when was the last time we were speechless at the beauty of God. This indeed is one of those times… seeing what has always been there. Thanks for this conversation.

Hart's second poem about his father, the line; "and felt a kindness fill the early hours and sweetened dark from here to Tennessee." That struck a deep chord.

I'm from Memphis, TN, currently living in the PNW. I often intuit that kindness awaken with me in my own life and, like Hart says, it's as if a prayer is happening to our being, not directly participating in word or thought.

That line will have me remembering often how much that prayer stretches from where I am now, to the place of my beginnings, and back again.

Kevin Hart’s poem ‘To Christ our Lord’ was very powerful for me when I was a student many years ago. Wonderful to hear his actual voice and some of his story and encouraging that he is still writing and teaching.

Thank you for this. The image of laying your head on the Father’s chest as prayer speaks. And Hart’s talk of his memoir was very encouraging. I have essays that I haven’t wanted to work on, and found your conversation like a quiet word from the Lord saying maybe it might be okay to do that work.
