April 13, 1960, Martin Luther King Jr published an account of his “pilgrimage to nonviolence” in The Christian Century. At the request of the editor who’d read the initially-submitted draft, King wrote these four additional paragraphs, which arrived too late to be included. I find them to be somehow equally challenging and comforting.
