First, I want to say thanks to those who’ve already subscribed. I’m serious when I say your gifts have been a timely help to me and mine and have made it possible for me to do work I feel I need to be doing right now.
As you’ve no doubt noticed, I’ve made my reflections on the weekly lectionary readings freely accessible to everyone. But I can afford to give that away only because of what you have already given. So, your contributions are not only helping me out in a tight spot but are also helping others who can’t afford to sign up for a service like this right now.
And that leads to this: (cue thrilling announcement theme): through Advent, I’ll be reading and reflecting on Bonhoeffer’s Ethics, considering what his work has to say to us about the life Christ has made possible for us to live together for God’s sake. I’ll be posting a podcast each week for my paid subscribers. If you’d like to follow along, I’ll be using the Fortress Press edition (vol. 6 in the DBW library).
Thanks again for your support, and please do help pass the word.
Your teachings have been such a blessing to me since I first heard you on Jonathan Martin’s podcast (and then starting reading your books and now taking the Revelation class😊). I have struggled to make sense of the faith tradition I inherited, but you and some others are like a light shining on Jesus and pointing me to the Christianity I always felt in my spirit, but never had the language to express. Thank you for the work you do!
Is Ethics accessible for a first reader of Bonhoeffer? If so, is there a reading plan to make sure we've read everything for the podcast?
